Located in the heart of Southside Chattanooga, this industrial-esque venue sits perfectly between Downtown Chattanooga and Lookout Mountain – talk about an impeccable view. Why settle for one when you can get both cityscape and mountains?! Before The Turnbull became what it is now, it was originally a 1920s warehouse home to the Turnbull Ice Cream Cone & Machine Company. Though recently transformed as a venue, the historic building has kept most of its original structure. The wood, brick and steelwork you see today is the same one from 100 years ago.
Many guests admire this venue because of the immense open space and natural lighting. The all-wooden structure and open windows welcome in the warm sunlight. It is a wonderful blank canvas for all those creative vision-oriented brides. Even with minimal decor, The Turnbull remains breathtaking. It is the perfect mixture of antique, industrial and modern. We’ve seen endless events done well in this space – boho, rustic, eclectic, industrial, modern, etc.
The 10,000 sqft venue space sits on the 3rd and 4th floor of the building. The two separate floors comfortably hosts both large and intimate weddings. Depending on setup preference, the separate spaces are suitable for a ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. The Turnbull offers event furniture that seats up to 300 guests and a dressing room suite. A 7-piece circular bar that can be broken up is also complementary. With access to both the 3rd and 4th floor, you are able to get creative with seating arrangements and ceremony/reception details.
Along with the convenience of being downtown, The Turnbull has several accommodations nearby, many of which are within sight from the venue! The Staybridge, The Marriott, The Chattanoogan, The Moxy, The Read House and The Dwell Hotel are only some of the many options in Chattanooga. There are also several airbnb options within the Southside and on Lookout Mountain, if you’re looking for a more homey and serene aesthetic.
With Chattanooga’s Wedding Industry on a rise, The Turnbull is an exciting addition to the industry. We are looking forward to more weddings here and to see what local wedding vendors will create in this space.
