On today’s spotlight, we are highlighting Hiwassee River Weddings and Events.

The Location: Private Water Front

This beautiful venue captured our attention by it’s pure and natural beauty.

It was founded by the Collins family and designed by Bill Collins himself. Hiwassee River Weddings and Events is tucked away in a peninsula along the well known Hiwassee River.

It is located in Delano, TN between Knoxville and Chattanooga.

The Experience: Intimate & Woodsy

Our team spent some time touring Hiwassee River Weddings and Events and immediately fell in love with its natural beauty. If you’re searching for an intimate woodsy outdoor venue, keep on reading because this might be the one for you!

The Drive: Romantic & Suspenseful

The drive to Hiwassee anticipates a wooded forest of pines and overarching trees eventually leading to an intricate and detailed timber frame venue.

The combination of the wooded outdoors, the rushing water of the Hiwassee and the all-timber structure of the venue creates a private and intimate setting.

The Ceremony: 3 Different Options

What we loved about this venue is the three different and versatile ceremony site options. This venue offers the Timber Frame Event Hall, The River, and The Forest.

1. The Event Hall

The Event Hall is perfect for those looking for a more rustic, elegant space. This space is made from trees found in the property. It is perfect for an indoor ceremony and reception.

Additionally, the Event Hall also holds two event suites that can be utilized throughout the day for the bridal party to get ready in.

Finally, the Event Hall is equipped with a central cooling and heating unit, a kitchen, restrooms, and a built-in sound system.

This space also overlooks the Hiwassee River and is just steps away from the next ceremony site.

2. The River

If you’re searching for a waterfront view, Hiwassee Weddings & Events has got it.

The River ceremony site sits right next to the Hiwassee and is just steps away from the Event Hall.

The sound of the flowing river and the surrounding trees make this site picture-perfect for those couples in search of an outdoor wedding.

You get both water and forest with this ceremony site. The flourishing forest opens up to the rushing waters of the Hiwassee River.

3. The Forest

The final ceremony site, The Forest, borders both The River and The Event Hall. It is an open area in the midst of the wooded forest.

The tall trees cast over the ceremony site creating a peaceful and personal setting. Wooden benches fill up the open area and lead to a wooden platform.

The Forest is a personal favorite of ours because it is nothing like your typical Tennessee ceremony site. We love the simplicity and the beauty of this site.

It’s not difficult to tell that Hiwassee River Weddings and Events is the product of hardwork and dedication. Bill himself spent a whole year cutting down trees to be used for building the space. The wood used for building the venue, tables, benches, decor, etc. are all made from trees found in the forest. This venue is truly unique and captivating.
